Glencalvie Lodge

The lodge accommodates a maximum of 14 guests and the traditional Highland charm of both the lodge and the housekeeping team ensure that guests are looked after in great comfort. The lodge, built in 1910, features roaring log fires, generous public rooms and a total of 11 bedrooms. There is also overflow accommodation available at Diebidale Lodge, one of Scotland’s great wilderness properties, and in a well-appointed adjacent cottage. Fishing
Glencalvie offers salmon fishing for a maximum of 6 rods, across 2 beats, on the River Carron. There is an experienced ghillie available to assist on both beats. The Carron is a renowned and productive Highland salmon river in the most beautiful private setting. It is a well-known spring river with strong runs of fish from March and then, with rain, good catches of fish can be expected to season end on September 30^th. The Gruinards beat, 4 rods, fishes from late March and the first fish can be expected at Glencalvie, 2 rods, in mid to late April. The beats have some of the most productive water on the Carron and include both the Morail and Glencalvie Falls pools. The latter is one of the most iconic pools in Scotland and the fish are normally clearly visible from the casting platform. Exciting loch trout fishing is also available.

Stalking
Glencalvie offers some of the finest and challenging stalking on the east coast with 2 rifles taking up to 5-10 stags each week during August, September and October. The estate is traversed by well-maintained pony tracks and you will have the services of 2 stalkers. From October 20th three day hind stalking packages are let with either Glencalvie Lodge or Diebidale.
