Situated in the Highlands of Scotland, Gordon Castle’s manicured grounds and magnificent gardens ensure that a stay there will be peaceful, relaxing and luxurious. As the seat of the Dukes of Richmond and Gordon dating back to the 1400s, the Castle’s historical provenance is evident throughout.
Gordon Castle has eight beautiful double or twin bedrooms, together with two further single bedrooms. Each has its own well-appointed bathroom finished to the highest standard. All the bedrooms have been individually decorated to create an elegant, warm and extremely comfortable stay. With large, luxurious beds, crisp linen and fluffy towels, you will enjoy a relaxing and peaceful stay. Personal touches ensure that all who stay feel truly memorable and special time.
The Castle has numerous public rooms on both floors for guest to relax in style, including the front drawing room, study and billiard room. Satellite television is available in three of the public rooms and a computer is available in the study.
The Gardens are large and privae an dinclude a tennis court. The Castle is fully staffed, providing friendly service and delicious food. Three further self-catering properties on the estate are also avaialble and can sleep an additioinal 20 guests.
The River Spey is one of the “big four” Scottish salmon rivers and the Gordon Castle beats are amongst the most famous in the world. Spread over the eight miles, its eight beats of double bank salmon fishing are together probably the largest prolific salmon fishers in Britain. Each beat has its own ghillie and is fished by between three and six rods, with most beats being six rods. Fishing is with fly only, and a largely catch and release policy for salmon and sea trout is in force. The Estate has a variety of fishing available throughout the year.
