River Laxford

Reay Forest extends to 96,000 acres of stunning wilderness including the peaks of Arkle, Ben Stack and the Southern slopes of Foinaven. It is a wild, very private, paradise and this regal corner of North West Scotland has few equals. The Estate is run in a traditional Highland fashion and the team of highly knowledgeable and personable staff operate to the very highest standards and work hard to constantly exceed expectations.

Lettings at Reay Forest are by the week and there are 2 superb lodges on the estate, the Old Laundry and Stack. Both provide comfortable, tastefully furnished accommodation and include the services of a housekeeper and cook. The properties benefit from effective drying rooms and Broadband Wireless Internet connections.

The Old Laundry in Achfary, sleeps 9 and Stack Lodge, on the banks of the Laxford and with its views over Loch Stack, sleeps 13. Please be in touch for further information.

Both Lodges are let with the same exciting combination of fishing opportunities. The Laxford is a beautiful, and in the right conditions, productive Highland spate river which fishes a total of 4 rods. The river is split into 2 beats, upper and lower, with each beat fishing 2 rods. Old Laundry and Stack each have one beat on the river each week. In addition there is fishing on Loch Stack, More and Gharbet Beag together with brown trout fishing on numerous lochs. Some of the lochs are in easy walking distance and others are more suited to a day's expedition with argo and ghillie. It is just a stunning place to spend a week fishing.

Sea fishing or sightseeing trips can be arranged in the estate’s own high specification RIB or sea boats at extra cost, or for those just wanting exercise there are several Munros to climb or deserted beaches to stroll along all within easy driving distance of the estate lodges.
