Whisky, Golf, Rivers and Beaches on the Moray Coast

With golf, whisky, rivers, beaches sitting alongside history and heritage, the Moray Firth and surrounding coastline is a fantastic holiday location whether you are coming for a short break or planning a longer holiday.

Whisky Tours

Celebrate Scotland's "water of life" with a tour of the Speyside Whisky Distilleries.  Let us organise a driven Whisky Tour so you can enjoy visiting a range of Whisky distilleries and not have to worry about the strict drink/driving rules.   Speyside is steeped in whisky history stretching back to the days of illicit whisky production and smuggling on a huge scale. This heritage in whisky making is just one of the many reasons there are more than 50 distilleries in the whisky making region of Speyside.  We can tailor the tour to suit but you can visit the more popular distilleries eg. Glenfiddich, Glenlivet or the new Macallan distillery.   Or we can take you to the less well-known distilleries including Ballindalloch or Balvenie.

We will organise lunch for you in one of the distilleries or in a local restaurant with exceptional whisky bars!

Golf

In this year of celebrating Scotland's Coasts & Waters, enjoy golfing on some of the most spectacular golf courses where you could well be tee-ing off hitting your ball across the beach and sea!  Or approaching a Green perched on a cliff requiring a particularly accurate shot if you don't want to be playing from the beach.

Follow in the footsteps of Old Tom Morris at Moray Golf Club in Lossiemouth, enjoy the challenges of Championship Golf Course at Nairn, designed by James Braid and the spectacular Castle Stuart Links.   Play one of the best par 3 in Scotland as voted by Sky Golf at Hopeman Golf Club - Prieshach, Hole 12.

Adventures on the Findhorn

Looking for a bit more excitement and for the adrenalin to flow?  Ossian can organise some great adventures on the river Findhorn – whether you want to enjoy the thrills & spills of white-water rafting and river tubing or leave your heart in your mouth with canyoning and cliff jumping.

Sea Kayak Adventure on the Moray Firth

Let us organise a sea-kayak experience on the Moray Firth. From the stunning coastal scenery and ever-changing nature of the coastline, you can explore the rugged, island-strewn west coast or the imposing cliffs and small, quiet fishing villages of the east coast.  It’s breathtaking!

Marine Wildlife Adventure

The Moray Firth is home to a resident population of bottlenose dolphins (the only known ones in the North Sea), Harbour & Grey Seals, Harbour Porpoises, Minke Whales (between May & September), Basking Sharks and a wealth of sea birds including Puffin, Guillemot, Black Guillemot, Razorbill, Shag, Cormorant, Fulmar, Kittiwake, Oyster Catcher, Black Backed Gull, Eider Duck, Heron, Osprey, Buzzard, and Geese.   Enjoy a 2 hour Rib Tour from either Findhorn or Lossiemouth.

**Making the most of Scotland’s long summer hours, we can also organise a Dinner Trip – start your adventure in the late afternoon and stop for dinner in one of the local restaurants on the coast before continuing your tour **

Fishing

We can organise a range of fishing experiences on amongst others, the rivers Spey, Findhorn, Lossiemouth and Nairn.  Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned fisher, we can design a package to suit you and your party.

Sea Fishing

Charter a boat to do some deep sea-fishing.  Fish commonly caught are: Cod, Ling, Mackerel, Pollack, Coalie, Wrasse, Scorpion fish and dogfish.

Fort George

Stand in awe of Fort George, one of the most outstanding fortifications in Europe. It was built in the wake of the Battle of Culloden (1746) as a secure base for King George II’s army and is right at the end of a Peninsula. The imposing fort was designed by Lieutenant-General William Skinner and built by the Adam family of architects. Fort George took 22 years to complete, by which time the Jacobite threat had subsided. But it has served the British Army for the almost 250 years since.
