The Scottish stalking experience is many things. It is a vital part of rural management, it is a historic tradition, and it is wonderful connection to nature. We think that Pait is one of Scotland’s very finest stalking estates and whilst wilderness is an overused word in this case it is entirely appropriate. The estate, just two hours from Inverness, is accessed via a twenty-mile private road followed by a 4-mile boat trip. The luxury lodge and cottages are surrounded by Scotland’s high hills, your only company is the eagles and the deer, and it is a location to recharge and to wonder at your surroundings.
The estates deer management plan means that stalking commences in early September. For the physically fit, Pait is big mountain country, there is no better challenge than these early stalking weeks. In late September and October, as temperatures fall away, the hills echo with the sound of roaring stags and as the rut ends hind stalking commences. It is a magical place to be and the knowledgeable team are your perfect guides. Open fires, estate venison, stars, hills, weary limbs and warm baths.
